FEBU Oral Examination
The FEBU Oral Examination is a one day examination.
- Each candidate will be given 3 clinical cases; cases are of equal difficulty for all examinees.
- Examination sessions are performed by one examiner and one observer and last 55 minutes per candidate.
- The examination is offered in eleven languages. Candidates can choose from the following ones: Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Polish, Portuguese or Spanish.
- Presentation of the FEBU Diplomas at the end of the day.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants who passed the FEBU written examination and meet one of the following criteria can register:
- Final year residents being trained in a UEMS/EBU member country
- Certified urologist holding:
a. A national board certificate issued in a UEMS/EBU member country (see overview).
b. A national board certificate issued in a non UEMS/EBU member country;
applicants must have passed the FEBU written examination in, or before, 2008.
Furthermore the following matters are of importance for the application procedure:
- Certified urologists additionally may be requested to submit proof of having completed a urological training programme of minimum five years.
- Certified urologist holding a national board certificate issued in a non UEMS/EBU member country are no longer eligible for the FEBU Oral Examination. Only those candidates who have passed the FEBU Written Examination in, or before 2008, can apply for the FEBU Oral Examination.
- Final year residents must submit a statement signed by his/her programme director.
- Final year residents from the United Kingdom and Ireland need to be on an official training programme; applicants trained in the United Kingdom must indicate their national training number on the statement.

Locations
- Brussels: Courtyard by Marriott Hotel.
- Budapest and Warsaw: Exclusively reserved for examinees form Hungary respectively Poland. Venues will be announced to these participants.
Fees
- Applicants from UEMS/EBU member countries: EUR 400.
- Applicants (residents) currently in training at an EBU Certified RTPU: EUR 300.
- Applicants from non UEMS/EBU member countries: EUR 600.
UEMS/EBU applicants
- Urologists certified in a UEMS/EBU member country and final year residents trained in a UEMS/EBU member country, who
- Work in an UEMS/EBU member country.
Application procedure
- Registration is closed.
- Required documents must be submitted by postal mail before the registration deadline:
- Urologists submit a copy of their national board certificate (in English). Additionally applicants may be requested to submit proof of having completed a minimum training in urology of five years.
- Residents submit a statement to confirm being a final year resident of a European Residency Training Programme in Urology.
- Copy passport or identity card.
- EBU Logbook (copy to be presented at the examination)
- Curriculum Vitae (max 2 pages)
- 1 passport sized photograph
- Applications that are incomplete will not be processed.
- After processing of the application applicants will receive a confirmation of receipt.
- Once the application is approved the applicant will receive the confirmation of eligibility and participation along with an invoice (before 1 March 2010).
- Payment can be done by bank transfer or credit card.
- Participation can only be guaranteed when the examination fee is paid in time.
- Cancellations need to be done in writing (see cancellation procedure).
Successful residents will receive the FEBU Diploma only after submission of a copy of their national board certificate.
